Client, a world leader in online casual gaming portals, will ask for people with a higher level educational background, relevant work experience in games / gaming related roles and good communication communication skills in at least English, more languages preferred. In all cases you must be able to fit a very dynamic, multicultural, fast moving environment where you will have the ability to work cross functional with and between people with a marketing, IT and creative background.

So with what kind of profile do you have a good chance of finding employment in the online casual games industry in Holland?

Games jobs mostly fall into the following categories, with related general requirements:

  • Online / casual games technical development:
    • Strong C/C++ development skills
    • PHP, and preferrably Perl / Python developments skills
    • Web (portal) development experience, games related experience preferred
    • Strongly preferred: experience with (My)Sql, DirectX, OpenGl, Lua
    • Strongly preferred: experience with both Windows and Unix/Linux platforms
  • Online / casual games creative development:
    • 2D, possibly 3D game design experience
    • Illustration and animation experience
    • Technical skills and acumen related to game programming and development
    • Strongly preferred: experience with Adobe suite products (Photoshop, Illustrator)
    • Strongly preferred: experience with Flash and/or Java games development
  • Online sales / advertising / marketing
    • Experience with sales and marketing of online advertising possibilities
    • Banners, product placement, partnership deals etc.
    • Strong network in, awareness of and up to date with latest developments in eCommerce, online and social gaming
