Gradually, it also extends the range of online services related to car navigation. One of the reasons for their success is ease of product use. Another reason is continuous innovation. Innovations changed the direction of the car navigation industry several times in this decade.
Functie
Within core team of specialists you will be primary responsible to provide technical database support across a multi-platform infrastructure (Linux, Windows). Critical and important role since the databases allow the 24x7 publishing of content and services for the company. Databases in use are MySQL, Oracle and MS-SQL.
Your main tasks will be:
•Provide day-to-day support and activities for production, pre-production, test systems in a structured manner;
•Provide project support to design and implement database solutions;
•Monitor systems and platforms for availability and integrity;
•Provide 24/7 standby support for critical situations;
•Oversee backup, restore, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover;
•Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements;
•Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency whilst having; understanding of application level issues;
•Restore and recovery of databases;
•Implement security and encryption.
Eisen
•At least 3 years experience as Database administrator in similar environments covering above described main tasks;
•Technical skills: in-depth knowledge of a majority of the components used within their infrastructure:
oRedHat, JBOSS, Apache, MySQL & Oracle; ActiveMQ; Xen; Nagios; NFS; HA clustering; Cisco networking equipment, NetApp storage (NFS) and Dell (Lintel-) servers.
•Self starter; analytical; good troubleshooting skills; result driven;
•You have a strong willingness to learn;
•Good language skills in Dutch and English, written and spoken;
•Willing to occasionally work out-of-hours and become part of a pre-planned stand-by schedule;
•You are enthusiastic, committed colleague with an eye for detail, hands on mentality, and a strong focus on quality. You have a professional and structured way of working;
•You have a high level of accuracy and understand the need to document your work;
•You have a passion for results; are an innovative thinker and have an open spirit.
