The Position
A TEM Software Engineer is involved in the design, development, integration, troubleshooting and debug of software programs for the control of our high-end transmission electron microscopes (TEM).
For our TEM software development we use an agile (SCRUM) approach. We expect you to be a team player that drives for project results. In the development cycles (Sprints) you are responsible for the following activities:
• analysis and design of the use cases
• update of the software requirements and design documents
• Implementation and test of the use cases
• Development of unit tests
• Actively looking for and providing constructive feedback on the work performed by reviewing
each others work.
Other responsibilities of the TEM software engineer are:
• Support production and service with change requests and problem reports that come up in using
TEM related SW
• Take ownership of one or more TEM software modules.
• Learn the architecture and usage of our TEM systems.
• Learn about our diverse market segments (Nano Research, Life Sciences, Electronics and
Industry).
The Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary technical environment to solve complex technical problems. If you enjoy the development of high-performance integrated systems, this is an excellent opportunity. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
• 2~7 years of experience in product software development
• A Bsc/MS degree in Information Technology, Computer science, Software Engineering or
Informatics is required, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the
required skills.
Proven ability to program using one or more of the following languages and techniques:
• Visual C++ and C# MFC
• Object Oriented design
• ATL
• COM
• Active X
• Windows XP and Windows Vista

• A pragmatic approach supported by a good conceptual understanding
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills that are needed to work in a multi-disciplinary
environment
• An improvement attitude in order to increase his knowledge and extend his skills
