For a very large and interesting employer in Luxembourg, Active Professionals is looking for a:

 

VOIP Specialist / Engineer

 

The scope of the post includes the areas of Voice, both PABX based as well as IP based, Video communications and the interrelated areas towards other technologies like IP networks and office automation. The activities range from analysis, design, implementation, servicing and maintenance of systems and tools already in place, to new projects – particularly in relation to Unified Communications and Voice over IP, both of them being an integral part of our IT strategy – and evolution of current solutions in the above areas.

 

 

Responsibilities 

·       Be  “hands-on” in the above-mentioned areas

·       Be a key player within the project team in charge of implementing Voice over IP within the organization in 2010

·       Manage teams of external consultants involved in the delivery of the above mentioned services

·       Supervise and ensure the installation and maintenance and operation of the hardware, the firmware and the system related software including the appropriate procedures and documentation where necessary

·        Assume backup responsibility in the Internal and External IP Network area when the person responsible for this area is out of the office

·        Follow up and optimize the relevant contracts and Service Level Agreements and establish the appropriate service and delivery monitoring, ensuring both quality of service and  value for money as well as  compliance with the organizations’ procurement and contract administration rules

·       Report in a timely fashion to the Head of Unit and Head of Division and ensure availability and consistency of appropriate management information by area

·        Continue to keep abreast of emerging technologies

·       Ensure that the architecture, design and implementation of all solutions are in line with internal standards and procedures, market leaders, best-practices, security recommendations and industry standards

·       Ensure implementation of processes and procedures, notably Incident Management, Configuration/Change Management and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), in the area of responsibility

 

 

  Qualifications 

·       University degree preferably in Telecommunications or Information Technology

·       Strong knowledge of Voice over IP and Video Communication technologies with at least three to five years professional experience in these areas. Knowledge of the following systems currently in place would be an advantage: PABX Ericsson MD110 version 11 (administration software DNA 52_SP3/ DMG/EMG ), Voicemail VMX300, recorder MIRRA

·       Good knowledge and understanding of network technologies in general, namely LAN, WAN and MAN.

·       Good Knowledge of user related equipment and solutions such as email and calendar systems

·       Excellent Project Management skills and proven track record of successful implementations in the areas required

·        Excellent knowledge of English and/or French, and a good working knowledge of the other

·        Capacity to co-ordinate projects, and external teams

·        Analytical and problem solving skills

·        Facility for technical report writing

·        A disciplined approach to organizing work and priorities and to documenting work
